The assignment was to capture the atmosphere, creativity and Mood of halloween, through photographs of decorations. We were instructed to pick a theme, the theme I chose was Horror.
Elements Of Art
The Purpose of this Assignment was to get us out creating photographs that incorporated our new knowledge about Photo Composition. All Images were made outdoors. I used Elements such as Line, Shape/form, Space, Value, Texture & Color to complete this assignment.
A Sense of Place
We were instructed to photograph a place that is/was special to us. The images we captured were supposed to tell a story. Water is my happy place. The ocean specifically. But I cant get to the ocean right now. So any body of water worked. My hubby is also my happy place. So I wanted to incorporate the two.

We were instructed to go out in the neighborhood that we live in and find things that "look" like each letter of the Alphabet. Without Using the actually letters of the Alphabet. Doing this project, really made me use my imagination and helped me to look at the world a little differently.
This project took me about 2 hours over the course of about a week.

This images shows the difference between Layers in a photograph and how much in focus each layer is depending on where and how you set the focal point before capturing the image.
For this image. There are two different layers and the focal point is set on the pink perfume bottle in the front, making the perfume bottle in the back out of focus.

For this assignment. We were taught how to use things other then just lights to light an object. In a normal lighting situation. This image would have been really dark on the right side. We used a white reflector on the top and on the bottom to help illuminate the entire object. Helping to showcase all of its texture.
The gem peice, I added to it. It was a pendant to a necklace my momma used to wear.
